Veterinary Urgent Care Center, one of the first urgent care hospitals for pets in the country, announced it recently started construction for its newest urgent care hospital in Narragansett, RI. The new hospital will be located at 91 Point Judith Road in Narragansett and will provide important urgent care services for dogs, cats, and exotic pets.

Veterinary Urgent Care Center (VUCC) is the bridge between general practice veterinarians and 24/7 emergency medical centers. The Narragansett hospital will be the eighth hospital in the VUCC system and the second in the state of Rhode Island.

VUCC has current locations in Braintree, Dedham, East Providence, RI, Easton, Plymouth, Saugus and Worcester. The Narragansett location is scheduled to open at the end of May.

“We are incredibly excited to get construction underway and get one step closer to delivering high-quality care to more pet owners in Rhode Island,” said Christie D’Andrea, DVM, founder and CEO of VUCC. “Our East Providence hospital showed us the need that truly exists here in Rhode Island. We want to be an option for folks in southern Rhode Island when their pet needs high-quality, same-day care.”

VUCC will be open 7 days a week with hours from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. during the week and 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome daily. Pet owners can book an appointment online or view hours before they walk-in to any location at veturgentcare.com.

Majestic Construction of North Attleborough will serve as general contractor for the project.
