Signs of an Animal Emergency

• Dystocia (female dog having difficulty giving birth)

Urgent Care Conditions Seen At VUCC

• Mild to moderate vomiting or diarrhea
• Ear infections and hotspots
• Lethargy or anorexia (not eating)
• Limping or lameness
• Seizures
• Itching, facial swelling, or allergic reaction
• Torn toenail
• Scooting or licking
• Mild to moderate lacerations,  burns or wounds (that are not severe or life threatening)
• Ingestion of toxic substances
• Presence of mass or bump
• Pain or discomfort (whimpering, hiding, tender to touch)
• Eye problems
• Coughing or sneezing
• Blood in urine or stool
• Male cats straining or not producing urine (should be seen ASAP)
