VIDEO BLOG! Eye Irritation from Skunk Spray

by | Jun 27, 2025 | Blogs, Pet Safety, Veterinary Urgent Care | 0 comments

Milo recently visited VUCC Saugus after he was sprayed by a skunk in the face! It may seem like just a stinky situation, but skunk spray can cause ulceration, a scratching of the eye.

Skunk spray can cause redness and swelling in our pup’s eyes, and even temporary blindness in some cases.

We treated Milo with an antibiotic eye drop and scheduled a recheck to ensure his eyes were on the mend. If your pet needs to see a veterinarian today, our teams are available 7 days a week in Braintree, Plymouth, Easton, Saugus, Dedham and East Providence, RI! We are also opening our VUCC Worcester hospital in early November!
